Havrix
Hepatitis A is a viral infection that can infect your liver. It can cause inflammation in your liver and affect its ability to function normally. Hepatitis A can be transmitted from contaminated food such as raw fruits and vegetables or water. It can be helpful to follow the rule “Cook it, Wash it, Peel it or Forget it” in reducing your risk of contracting Hepatitis A.
Engerix B
Hepatitis B is another infection that can also affect your liver. It can be a serious infection that can result in scarring, liver failure and even cancer. Sources of Hepatitis B include sexual activity, Needle sharing and transmission through blood. So if you have to have a procedure or are getting a tattoo while on vacation there is a chance that you could contract Hepatitis B if the equipment used is not properly sterilized.
Twinrix
Twinrix is a Vaccination that protects you against both Hepatitis A and B in one convenient injection for the traveler who needs both.
Shingrix
Your risk of Shingles increases over the age of 50. For this reason Shingles is recommended for anyone over the age of 50. The effect of shingles can last in the body for years on end after the rash itself has subsided. Often a patient will have residual neuropathic pain that will last for a few years after the infection has passed.
Vivotiff
Your risk of Shingles increases over the age of 50. For this reason Shingles is recommended for anyone over the age of 50. The effect of shingles can last in the body for years on end after the rash itself has subsided. Often a patient will have residual neuropathic pain that will last for a few years after the infection has passed.
Typhim
For patients who cannot take Vivotif to vaccinate against Typhoid another option is Typhim which is an injectable alternative for vaccination against Typhoid.
Yellow Fever
Yellow fever is a very rare cause of illness in Canadian travelers. Illness ranges from a fever with aches and pains to severe liver disease with bleeding and yellowing skin (jaundice). Yellow fever infection is diagnosed based on laboratory testing, a person’s symptoms, and travel history. Not all travelers will need to be vaccinated against yellow fever. It will only be needed if you are traveling to an area that is endemic to yellow fever.
Varivax III
Varivax III is a vaccine that is used to help prevent Chicken Pox in ages 12 months or older. Chicken pox is easily passed from one person to another and occurs in millions of people worldwide each year but particularly those between 5 and 9 years old. Although generally harmless it can be sometimes associated with complications.
Pneumovax

Pneumovax is another vaccine that helps to protect us against Pneumonia. It differs from Prevnar-13 in that it protects against 23 different bacteria that are responsible for causing pneumoniae. It is indicated for anyone who is 65 and older or if younger and has risk factors. Often patients will get both Prevnar 13 and Pneumovax to provide them with the best coverage against pneumoniae.

Mentactra
Menactra helps to immunize us against invasive meningococcal disease also known as meningitis. Meningitis is a life threatening disease that presents itself as a swelling and inflammation of our membranes that protect our brain and spinal cord. Meningitis can be caused by both bacteria and viruses. Menactra provides protection against the bacteria.
ViVAMIX

ViVAXIM provides protection against both Hepatitis A and Typhoid which are both food and water borne diseases. Typhoid presents itself with fever, headache and diarrhea. Hepatitis A on the other hand presents itself with jaundice, fever, nausea as well as liver damage.

Malaria

Malaria is a disease that is caused by a parasite that is carried by a Mosquito. The typical signs and symptoms of Malaria include, high fevers, shaking, chills and flu like symptoms. Malaria can be quite lethal and deadly but if you are going to an area that is endemic to malaria then you can take medication to help provide immunization. Which medication you take on your trip is going to depend on Malaria resistance in the  area.

Traveler’s Diarrhea
Antibiotics can be taken with you on your trip in case you need them for mild to moderate traveler’s diarrhea. There are precautions you can take to prevent traveler’s diarrhea such as boiling water before drinking and ensuring that the food you are eating is fully cooked or using dukoral as a preventative vaccine. However sometimes we can take all the precautions and still end up with traveler’s diarrhea. That is why it is always a good idea to have some antibiotics on hand just in case.
